Why Functional Medicine?
Jenny Lake Functional Wellness offers in person or tele-health care providing care to people of all ages from birth to end of life. We can address acute and chronic conditions but specialize in autoimmune disease, complex health issues, chronic illness, environmental and food allergies, chronic fatigue, eczema, Lyme disease, peri-menopause, menopause, and environmental toxins.
We are a certified Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI) provider offering safe and effective relief of environmental and food allergens, along with treating numerous autoimmune conditions.
Is conventional medicine failing you? Have you had to go doctor to doctor, test after test and still can't seem to get answers or get well?
While conventional medicine has its place in things like emergency care, needed surgeries, orthopedic care, etc. many find that traditional healthcare often leaves them merely managing symptoms rather than addressing the root causes of their health issues. This often leads to the compounding of medications or enormous piles of supplements, which are no better.
Functional medicine takes a different approach by focusing on the whole person, examining factors like nutrition, gut health, stress, and environmental influences. This holistic method, has an established and growing foundation in evidence based practice and empowers individuals to reclaim their health and achieve lasting wellness where we look beyond traditional pharmaceuticals to help you live your best life.
What Is Functional Medicine?
As a Nurse Practitioner specializing in functional medicine, my approach to healthcare goes beyond treating symptoms. Functional medicine is a patient-centered, science-driven approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness, rather than simply masking symptoms. By considering the whole person—including your physical, emotional, and mental well-being—I work to uncover the factors that may be contributing to chronic conditions or discomfort.
A Holistic, Personalized Approach to Your Health
Functional medicine recognizes that each person is unique. In my practice, I take time to get to know you—your medical history, lifestyle, genetics, and environmental factors—to understand what may be driving your symptoms. This allows me to develop a personalized treatment plan that focuses on the individual factors affecting your health.
Treating the Root Causes, Not Just the Symptoms
Many chronic conditions like autoimmune disorders, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and fatigue often have deeper, systemic causes. Instead of simply treating symptoms with medications, I focus on:
-
Identifying imbalances in your body’s systems through advanced lab testing and a detailed health history
-
Addressing factors such as inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, stress, and toxin exposure
-
Improving overall function and wellness by restoring balance and supporting your body’s natural healing processes
Integrating Conventional and Complementary Approaches
As a Nurse Practitioner, I bring a balanced approach to your care by combining conventional medicine with complementary therapies. Depending on your needs, your treatment plan might include:
-
Nutritional counseling to improve diet and support healing
-
Lifestyle coaching for stress management, sleep optimization, and physical activity
-
Supplementation with vitamins, minerals, or herbs to address specific deficiencies
-
When necessary, I also integrate conventional treatments to ensure comprehensive care
Empowering You to Take Control of Your Health
In functional medicine, the goal is not just disease management, but long-term wellness and prevention. I partner with you to explore the root causes of your symptoms, so we can work together to create a treatment plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. You’ll be empowered to take an active role in your own health, supporting your body’s ability to heal and thrive.
Ready to Get to the Root of Your Health Concerns?
If you’re ready to explore a more holistic, personalized approach to your health, contact me today to schedule a consultation. Let’s work together to uncover the underlying causes of your symptoms and create a tailored plan to restore your well-being.

Allergies
Our personalized approach can help in identifying, managing, and overcoming allergies to improve your overall well-being.
Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI) is an innovative approach to treating environmental and food allergies, most auto-immune conditions, and chronic illnesses. It involves small doses of allergens or internal microbial antigens to help the body retrain immune tolerance. It is safe, considered homeopathic, and can be used with nearly any other treatment, and works exceptionally well.
Autoimmune Conditions
We specialize in addressing autoimmune conditions (ie. asthma, thyroid, fatigue, pain, eczema, and insomnia) to help you lead a healthier life.
Gut Health
Everything comes back to the gut! We focus on getting your gut healthy to improve your overall health and wellness.
Biomagnetism
One type of complimentary alternative treatment (CAM) that we use is Biomagnetism. This type of treatment uses magnets to address pH imbalances in the body and restore health.

Nutrition
Our clinic offers specialized care for a variety of nutritional support, focusing on elimination and anti-inflammatory diets. We can help you on your journey to identify food allergies and sensitivities.
Joint Pain
We offer support to help get you moving and living a more pain free life and enjoy being active again.
Peri-Menopause & Menopause
Hormonal changes and imbalances don't have to be your everyday reality. We offer hormone evaluations and can develop a personalized treatment plan, including options like bioidentical hormones and botanicals to address joint pain, fatigue, brain fog, hot flashes, bone and cardiovascular health, and urinary urgency and frequency.
Stress Management
Our team provides guidance and support to help you manage stress effectively. High stress levels can disrupt your hormones and impact your overall health, including your immune system, sleep quality, and weight. Together, we can work towards enhancing your wellbeing and restoring balance in your life.

Jennifer Sofie, DNP, FNP, ANP
Jenny Lake is a stunning natural gem nestled in Grand Teton National Park, and it’s a name that evokes beauty and tranquility. This picturesque lake, surrounded by majestic mountains, offers the perfect backdrop for my business inspired by nature. My parents explored this lake in the 1970's and were so admiring of its beauty I was named after this lake! I am naturally drawn to alpine and sub-alpine lakes in my own outdoor adventures in Montana, so naming my business after this lake, my namesake, invites others to share in the serenity, peace, beauty, and wonder it embodies.
